Jo graduated with a Licentiate in Acupuncture from The College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading in 2004. The course was over three years in length, equating to around 1,500 hours of lectures in Chinese Medicine theory, practical training and clinical experience as well as a firm grounding in western medical science. The College integrates two theories of Chinese Medicine; Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Constitutional Acupuncture and Jo now incorporates both styles of acupuncture into her own practice.
She has been a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) since graduating in 2004 and is fully insured via this membership. The BAcC is the main governing body of traditional acupuncturists in the UK, and Jo practices in accordance with the BAcC’s Code of Safe Practice and is bound by their Code of Profession Conduct.
Jo undertakes ongoing CPD (Continuing Professional Development) both in the form of self-study and formal training as well as keeping abreast of the growing research base into acupuncture and other forms of holistic health, in order to provide the best quality of care to her patients.
